Norseman: Dave

I drifted in from Mayhem John and had a very enjoyable read of your build. Though I'm not really into sail I don't think the time was wasted and I learned a few things. Keep up the good work. Regards Dave (in Huyton) Ha Ha - I have just been completely flummoxed by the image verification - I didn't see the bigger picture at all - daft as a brush mate.

GaryS: Hello, John!

Hello, John:

Way back in 1975, I built an R/C model of Emma C. Berry and sailed her for many years.

Unfortunately I lost track of the model over the years since.

Now I look forward to building another (larger) R/C schooner.

Thanks for putting up your page.

I have found everything you've written and photographed to be very useful.

Guest: J Class Fan

Another modeller has really helped me to find my way in trying to build a J Class; I couldn't find anything online apart from the link US website where I got really excited, only to find the hulls were 9 feet long.

I've now struck lucky with a guy who will build me a hull at 58" long> I love your J Class. You don't say where you got the hull from or if its just a 10 rater?

(It WAS a 10 Rater)

Here's my link to my J class ambition http://www.mjed.co.uk/jclassmodelyacht.html I'd be real happy to hear from anyone with feedback and guidance on building one of these great yachts.

I think other modellers from our Basingstoke model club will get involved in this worthy model build. I wasn't sure if the Pocahontas model boat plan was a J Class?

Bill Pennings: Mr

I have been looking at your site many times and have been longing
to have a model like yours.
So I started my own.
She will be five feet on deck, so just a little smaller then yours.
The hull is about ready after many alteration and changes.
 I will keep you posted.

 Your friend Bill.

Derek Bradley: Mr

Hi John,

Came to your site via Mayhem. Like the looks of your 'J Class' and have passed the details on to a contact who is interested in the J's.

 Best wishes, Derek.

Lou van Wijhe: A very attractive website!

A very attractive and professionally looking website with a lot of helpful information.

And I do admire your models! Just one question: Where do you get the time to get all this done?

There are only 24 hours in a natural day, aren't there?

Lou.
